Repair methods for excavators

Preparation before welding: Use a hand grinding wheel to clean the oil stains, paint, rust, etc. at the crack of the original weld seam. Use an air planer to cut off the cracks in the weld seam to the body of the side plate, and remove the hardened area of the base material that was previously welded. After cutting, use a corner grinding wheel to smooth the incision (with a V-shaped groove on the inner interface). After cleaning and pink inspection, confirm that all cracks have been found and removed completely.
According to the existing maintenance conditions, use E5015 (J507) or E5016 (J506) welding rods with a diameter of 5mm, bake at 350 ℃ for 2 hours, and then keep warm at 100 ℃ to prevent the welding rods from absorbing moisture. They can be used as needed; Welding current 190-230A. Due to the large thickness of the excavator side panel, the welded area should be preheated to 150-250 ℃ before welding; During the welding process, segmented, symmetrical, and reverse welding methods can be used; During the cooling process of the weld seam, the weld metal should be continuously struck with a hammer to eliminate stress; When welding at the corner of the side panel, continuous welding is recommended to avoid arc defects and improve the stress condition at the connection.
After welding, thoroughly remove spatter, welding slag, and weld beads, and the weld seam height should not exceed 2.5mm. Perform magnetic particle inspection on the weld seam, and no defects such as cracks are allowed.
