The braking system of a skid steer loader mainly consists of brake modules, which are arranged on the left and right sides. Each module includes a motor, reducer, brake disc, caliper brake, and double row sprocket. The power of the motor is transmitted through a reducer, and the rotating shaft of the reducer is connected to a double row sprocket, which is connected to an external wheel through a chain drive. The rotating part of the reducer is equipped with a brake disc, which is positioned relative to the friction block of the caliper brake to achieve the braking function. This design improves the independence of the left and right brakes of the skid steer loader and facilitates maintenance.
In addition, the safe operation of a skid steer loader also involves the correct use of the braking system. For example, after starting and running, it is necessary to ensure that the brake pressure reaches static pressure before preparing to start, in order to ensure braking quietness during driving. In emergency situations, rapid braking can be achieved by pressing the buttons of the emergency brake valve and parking brake valve. These operations need to be carried out when the air pressure reaches the allowable starting air pressure to ensure the effectiveness of braking.
