I. Maintenance after daily use
1. Clear away residues
After each operation, promptly remove any debris such as soil, stones, ice and snow, metal chips, garbage, etc., that are caught between the bristles.
You can use a high-pressure water gun to flush (ing direct spray on the bearings), or manually clean with a stiff-bristled brush.
⚠️ Note: If using a wire brush for rust removal, residual iron can rust easily if not thoroughly cleaned.
2. Check the bristle condition
Observe if there are any broken, bent, fallen, or severely worn bristlese.g., a reduction of more than 30% in bristle length).
If there is severe local wear, consider rotating the brush disk (if are multiple mounting holes) to balance usage.
3. Check the connections and fasteners
Confirm that the bolts, pins, and retainers of the brush disk and quick- device are not loose or deformed.
Regularly lubricate the moving parts of the quick-change interface to prevent rust and jamming.
II. Regular maintenance (re every 50 hours or weekly)
1. Check bearings and drive components
Brushes are usually driven by hydraulic motors, which contain bearings. If there are abnormal noises,, or difficulty in turning during operation, it could be due to bearing damage or lack of oil.
Some high-end brushes come with an oil nipple, and grease ( as lithium-based grease) should be added regularly according to the manufacturer's requirements.
2. Adjust the balance of the brush disk
After long-term use, unevenristle wear can lead to an imbalance in dynamic balance, causing vibration in the entire machine.
This can be detected through professional equipment testing, or by observing whether the brush diskates smoothly.
3. Anti-corrosion treatment (especially for wire brushes)
If working in a damp, saline, or corrosive environment, it is recommended:
Wipe off surface moisture after work;
Spray rust inhibitor (such as WD-40) on metal parts;
Store in a dry and ventilated.
