Mini Skid Steer Safe Operation Procedure

Apr 02, 2026

1. Pre-Operation Inspection (Mandatory)

Walk-Around Inspection
Check that the tires or tracks, frame, hydraulic lines, lights, horn, and seat belt are in good condition.

Fluid Level Check
Verify that fuel, engine oil, hydraulic oil, and coolant are at normal levels, with no visible leakage.

Safety Devices
Ensure the seat belt, parking brake, rollover protective structure (ROPS), and falling object protective structure (FOPS) are intact and fully functional.

Work Area Inspection
Confirm that the work zone is clear of personnel and obstacles, the ground is firm, and visibility is adequate.

2. Start-Up Procedure

Fasten the seat belt and adjust the seat and rearview mirrors.
Confirm that the bucket is lowered to the ground, all control levers are in neutral, and the parking brake is engaged.
Start the engine and allow it to idle and warm up for 1–3 minutes, while checking the instrument panel for warning signals.
Test the brakes, steering, lights, horn, and hydraulic functions to ensure normal operation.

3. Operating Procedure

Release the parking brake and start moving slowly. Sudden acceleration and sharp turns are prohibited.

Loading Material:
Retract the lift arm first, then raise the boom to avoid engine overload and rear lift.

Traveling:
Keep the bucket 20–30 cm above the ground. Do not travel with the bucket raised high.

Turning / Reversing:
Look around first, sound the horn, and operate at low speed. Sudden turns are prohibited.

Dumping:
Raise smoothly and tilt the bucket slowly to prevent material from falling suddenly or causing the machine to pitch forward.

Avoid unnecessary combined movements to prevent hydraulic overload and harsh operation.

4. Operation on Slopes and Special Terrain

Uphill Travel:
Travel straight up the slope, keep the bucket slightly raised, and use low speed with sufficient throttle.

Downhill Travel:
Travel straight down the slope, use light braking to control speed, and never coast in neutral.

Side Slopes:
Do not travel diagonally across steep slopes to avoid rollover.

5. Shutdown and Dismounting

Stop the machine on level ground and lower the bucket fully to the ground. Return all control levers to neutral.
Engage the parking brake and allow the engine to idle for cooling before shutting it down.
Remove the key. When leaving the machine, the engine must be off and the parking brake must be engaged. Never leave the machine unattended while running.

6. Critical Safety Rules

No passengers, no overloading, and no high-speed sharp turns

No one is allowed to stand under the bucket or step over it

No operation while fatigued, under the influence of alcohol, or without proper certification

Stop the machine immediately if abnormal noise or oil leakage is detected
